Krakow ranked top for city breaks according to a survey carried out by British magazine “Which”
Warsaw took 37th place, in second was Munich, Prague third, and fourth Berlin. Further down the list Budapest, Tallinn, Barcelona, Vienna, Valencia and Seville. Rounding up the list were Naples and Milan.
The survey was attended by 4 585 respondents. It included the cities, which can be reached from Britain in less than three hours flying time.
The survey questions asked were regarding accommodation, meals, cultural attractions, ease of movement, retail offer, attitude to foreign tourists, the ratio of price to quality of service.
Cracow was awarded the highest rating of five stars for both culinary qualities and favorable attitude towards foreigners. In the category of tourist attractions and accommodation Krakow won four stars. Among the attractions mentioned nearby was the salt mine in Wieliczka.
The average price of a hotel room in Krakow is affordable for a British tourist pocket – 55 pounds, and transfer to the city center to the airport costs less than 1 pound.
