It is possible that Widzew Lodz may be homeless for the second round of the season, commencing in spring. Originally the Lodz team was meant to move to Piotrkow Trybunalski for the duration of the construction of the new stadium in Lodz. However, on Monday the Piotrkow magistrate decided that it will not rent the facility to Widzew.
For now, we do not comment on this information, because we do not know – said Michal Kulesza, a spokesman for Widzew. Meanwhile, Leszek Hainzel, director of the Centre for Sport and Recreation in Piotrkow says Widzew was informed of the decision. – After examination of the offer, there appeared to be too many question marks – explains Hainzel. What will Widzew do now? They have to quickly find a new property. The Piotrkow stadium was the best equipped of all the others in the Lodz region. To upgrade another stadium to the requirements of the Polish Football Association, will cost a lot of money.
The second round of the Polish 1st. league will commence on the weekend of 07.03.15 when Widzew plays hosts to Sandecja Nowy Sacz.
