Liga 3 (fourth Polish league) team Widzew Łódź announced that it has reached another milestone on their journey back to the Ekstraklasa (highest Polish football league). The club announced that, with 2,5 months to go until the 2nd round of the season, it has already sold 5,500 tickets for the spring round.
With 2,5 months to go until the 2nd round of the 2016 / 17 season, 12 points behind league leaders ŁKS and overall 5th place in the league, Widzew Łódź announced that it has already sold 5,500 tickets for the upcoming spring round. The 2nd round will be held at the newly built stadium, and the club estimates that for the Liga 3 matches they will have at least 10,000 spectators at each match.
In comparison, Ekstraliga clubs such as Piast Gliwice, Górnik Łęczna or Bruk-Bet Termalica struggle to reach 5,000 spectators at home matches. 3 leagues below, Widzew will have more season ticket holders than the average attendance at these three Ekstraliga clubs.
