Polish Cup Final: Chemik Police – Budowlani Łódź 3:0 (Photos)

In Sports

Following an emotional thriller, which saw Budowlani turn the tables on Impel Wroclaw in the semi finals of this year’s Polish cup during the evening hours of Saturday (04.02.), it was not meant to be for the ladies of Budowlani Łódź. In the women’s volleyball cup final held in Zielona Góra yesterday (05.02.), the Budowlani ladies lost to current Polish champions Chemik Police by 3:0.

The result, however, does not do justice to the fighting spirit of everyone involved at Budowlani Łódź. There are no questions to be asked about the motivation of the players as they gave everything in two tough matches spread over a time period of less than 24 hours. They can return to Łódź with their heads held up high as the team now prepares for their European volleyball journey against RC Cannes this Wednesday at the Atlas Arena in Łódź.

But it was not only the players and management staff who stood out with an incredible performance. The fans of Budowlani Łódź equally have to be commended for not making the journey to Zielona Góra once, but twice last weekend. Approx 30 fans got behind the ladies and supported their team even after the final match was already lost. They say that Budowlani is one family and this was visible and could be felt throughout the entire cup final weekend. Well done!

On a more positive note, Budowlani’s “Player of the Match Queen”, Kaja Grobelna, was awarded with the title of best serving player of the tournament while Paulina Maj – Erwardt was crowned the tournament’s best libero. Congratulations!
