After the 3:1 defeat against World Champions Germany in Frankfurt on Friday night, the Polish national team continue to show their strength with an 8:1 victory over competition newcomers Gibraltar.
The goal frenzy was opened with a double pack by Kamil Grosicki in the 8th and 15th minute. Robert Lewadowski added to two more in the 18th and 29th minute going into halftime with a 4:0 advantage.
Arkadiusz Milik increased the advantage to 5:0 in the 56th minute and Kuba Blaszczykowski bringing the lead up to 6:0 from the penalty spot in the 59th. A double pack by Milik and Bartosz Kapustka in the 72nd and 74th minute brought Poland up by 8:0.
Jake Gosling put the ball behind the net for Gibraltar in the 81st minute which was the second goal of Gibraltar’s Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
The “white and reds” will remain in second place of the Euro 2016 Qualifying Group D, trailing Germany by 2 points and ahead of Ireland also by 2 points. Next, Poland will travel to Scotland on the 8th of October.
