Legia beat Metalist Kharkiv 2:1 and moves to next round of Europa League

Legia Warsaw won for the fourth time in a row in the group stage of the Europa League and secured promotion to the next round. The Polish champions won in front of their home crowd against Metalist Kharkiv 2: 1 (1: 1).


In the 22nd minute, the visitors took the lead by a superb bicycle by Wasyl Kobin. Legia, however, quickly took up the challenge and Saganowski scored the equalizer in the 29th minute.

In the second half both teams had chances to score, but only Legia could use theirs to find the back of the net. In the 84th minutes, Orlando Sa fantastically played for Ondrej Duda who put the ball behind the Metalist goalkeeper.

In the second Thursday meeting of Group L, Lokeren drew at home with Trabzonspor 1: 1 (1: 1). This result meant that Legia has already qualified for the Europa League 1/16 finals.
