It was a long match for fans at the Widzew stadium yesterday evening as for 90 long minutes, it seemed as if Widzew would finish the match against Olimpia Zambrów with a 0:0 draw and a point share. However, the long wait paid off as Kacper Falon put the ball behind the guest goalkeeper’s net in the 90th minute to score the 1:0 and securing the vital three points.
Yesterday evening (08.09.17), RTS Widzew Łódź took another vital step towards promotion to Liga 2 (third Polish football league) as they defeated visitors Olimpia Zambrów by 1:0 at the Widzew stadium. With a late goal in the 90th minute, Kacper Falon secured the victory and the much desired points for the hosts.
Last night’s victory temporarily takes Widzew to the pole position of the Liga 3 group 1 table, overtaking Lechia Tomaszów Mazowiecki and leading the pack with a 2 point difference. However, at the time of publishing, Lechia Tomaszów Mazowiecki played one match less as their clash with GKS Wikielec is scheduled for Sunday (10.09.) at 11:00.
Next up, Widzew Łódź will travel to Huragan Morąg on Saturday September 16th before playing host to Ursus Warszawa on the 22nd. The match against Ursus at the Widzew stadium is scheduled to kick off at 19:10.
