Thousands of households without power after heavy storms hit Poland

Over 17,500 households were left without electricity on Sunday morning after violent storms hit various parts of Poland.


Some 88,000 homes altogether suffered due to power line failures throughout the night.

The worst affected regions were the Silesian voivodship, as well as the Łódź and Masovia voivodships.

Fire brigades were called into action in nearly a thousand emergency cases over the last 24 hours. They are working with highest priority on the restoration of electricity supply.
