Tesco to sell off its Central Eastern European operations

In Polish News

Tesco plans to sell its operations in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The Sunday Times reported that the British company is after preliminary talks on the sale of its branches in these countries.

Chairman of Tesco Dave Lewis promised to improve the company’s finances. In early September, Tesco already sold its business in South Korea. After 20 years of operations in Central Eastern Europe, signs of Tesco pulling out of the region become stronger. Tesco entered Hungary in 1995, a year later Poland and then Czech Republic and Slovakia.
