Dutch citizens held by Polish police after attempting to purchase Kalashnikov

Three Dutch citizens, said to be of Arab origin, have been detained by police after unsuccessfully trying to purchase a Kalashnikov and hand gun in the northern town of Gdynia.


The three men attempted to buy the weapons in a shop in Gdynia, northern Poland. When asked for the weapons permit, the men offered to pay twice the normal price. The shop owner and his partner, who also secretly filmed the men in the shop, called police after the men left.

The men were apprehended by anti-terrorism police inside the shopping center “Riviera”. According to witnesses, the men attempted to resist arrest and tasers were used.
