Police in Poland call for drivers to be cautious. In a nationwide police action called “Safe Holidays – Christmas 2016”, traffic police officers will examine, among other things, speed, drivers’ sobriety and whether children are transported in a child seat.
– Especially during the festive period, drivers can be distracted and forget to carry children in appropriate child seats – says Marzanna Boratyńska of the Łódź traffic police. Police officers will carry out checks with increased vigilance.
Police spokesman Mariusz Ciarka reminds drivers to check the technical condition of the car before embarking on a journey. Ciarka calls for caution behind the wheel and asks drivers to adjust their speed to road conditions. Ciarka adds that, especially in the morning and overnight, roads can be very slippery due to frost.
Police also said that every roadside check is accompanied by an alcohol test and remind drivers not to drink and drive.
