Taxi drivers in Łódź stage protest against UBER

In Łódź News

Taxi drivers in Łódź have staged a renewed protest against competition UBER. This time they protested outside Łódź city council. During today’s protest on Piotrkowska, they detained two UBER drivers.

Taxi drivers in Łódź say that they are protesting because they believe that UBER drivers operate illegally. Ordering an UBER car is done via an application on a mobile phone, and the driver performs the service in an unmarked car.

UBER drivers do not have a license for passenger transport for hire or reward. Taxi drivers, for whom Uber is an existence threatening competition, protest against authorizing the operation of UBER in Łódź.
