Foundation ‘Instytut Działań Twórczych” and Ośrodek “3 Piętra” would like to invite all Łódz Post readers to a “Kubb Workshop”.
Kubb is a popular Swedish yard game with the objective to knock over wooden blocks, known as ‘kubbs’, by throwing wooden batons at them. Kubb can perhaps be described as a combination of bowling and horseshoes. The alleged Viking origins of the game, combined with the fact that the game can involve a certain level of strategy, has led some players and kubb fans to nickname the game “Viking Chess.”
Foundation ‘Instytut Działań Twórczych” and Ośrodek “3 Piętra” would like to invite all Lodz Post readers to a Kubb Workshop. The workshop will involve creating your own wooden blocks which can be taken home after the workshop is finished (all the materials will be provided). During the workshop, you can create your own blocks to take home and practice the game in your own home or in the park. The rules of the game are thought during the “Games in the Park” sessions at Park Poniatowskiego. The Łódź Post reported on it.
Each Thursday Workshops will take place on 3, 10, 17, 24 of September between the hours of 17 and 20 on the patio of Ośrodek “3 Piętra” building on 71/73 28 Pułku Strzelców Kaniowskich Street in Łódz or, if the weather won’t allow an outside workshop, it will take place inside the Ośrodek “3 Piętra” Building. To take part in the workshop email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 426327977 (both workshop leader and Ośrodek’s staff speak English) at least two days before the workshop. Let’s play Viking Chess!
