Police starts seasonal patrols at lakes across Łódź region

In Łódź News

From 1st of June, police will start their seasonal patrols on and around lakes across the Łódź region. The patrols are to ensure safety for boat enthusiasts, swimmers and sunbathers.

The police patrols are primarily to ensure the safety of sailing boats and bathers in the water. They will remind swimmers and sailors of the basic principles and rules. Preventive measures are important, especially in the water, where seconds can decide about human life.

Keep in mind that alcohol is not advisable if you want to bathe – it interferes with the assessment of the body’s capabilities and weakens the body. Every year, lives are lost due alcohol consumption before or during sailing and swimming. It is important to pay special attention to children. Within just moments, toddlers can get lost in the crowd of sunbathers and end up in the water by themselves – a police spokesperson said.

Police also warns against thieves. Therefore, do not leave your belongings unattended or refrain from bringing valuable items such as jewelry, mobile phones or purses to the water.
