Lux Pro Monumentis Foundation, the organizers of the Łódź Light Move Festival, have confirmed the dates for the 2017 edition of the popular festival. The event will take place between the 29th of September and 1st of October.
– Together with the organizers we decided to go ahead with the festival a little earlier than in recent years. The event will begin on the 29th of September and ends on 1st of October. We hope that an earlier festival will be accompanied by better weather which will result in more people visiting the festival and the city of Łódź. We look forward to visitors not only from Łódź, but also from outside of our city. We look forward to a large attendance – says Izabela Zbonikowska, with the Łódź events centrum.
The 7th edition of the Łódź Light Move Festival will be held under the motto “No Limits- The path of Avant-garde”. Avant-garde movement involves exploring new artistic methods and experimenting with new techniques, in order to produce art. The motto refers to the hundredth anniversary of avant-garde movement in Poland.
– 2017 is the year of the avant-garde and the avant-garde has incredible significance for the development of art and culture. We want artists to use their capabilities completely limitless and we invite them to submit their ideas for the 2017 edition of the Light Move Festival. We invite artists to submit their ideas for the festival in two categories: large projections and light installations- says Beata Konieczniak, spokesperson for the organizer.
The Light Move Festival has become an integral part of the annual Łódź events calendar. Over the last 6 years, the festival has become one of the most popular outdoor events in Poland, attracting visitors from all over the globe.
This year, the organizers hope that the event will attract about 700,000 visitors.
