Free WiFi at MPK Łódź appears to be more popular than the initiators originally believed it would be. Nearly 40,000 MPK passengers made use of the service in a single month.
The free WiFi service at MPK Łódź, which is funded by the civil budget for a three months trial period, has attracted a lot of users. Mikołaj Jasiński, one of the initiators, says that nearly ten million megabytes of data was transferred during one month. That’s the equal to approx. twelve million pictures being sent or received.
Feedback has been very positive and Wifi onboard MPK Łódź public transport vehicles is bound to become more popular than free WiFi offered from fixed hotspots installed across the city.
