Ericsson acquires Ericpol

Swedish company Ericsson has acquired the Polish and Ukrainian venture Ericpol. On Wednesday (20.04) the formal procedures related to the acquisition were completed.


The investments will be in the area of ​​radio, or so called cloud solutions, explains the head of Ericsson-Eripol Poland Paweł Szczerkowski. – This is very good news for employees and for the region. Ericsson is a world leader in radio technologies and claims 40 percent of the market. We are happy that this kind of technology will also be created in Łódź – Szczerkowski emphasizes. – In the near future we do not plan any reorganization – adds Szczerkowski.

The acquisition of Łódź and Krakow branches of Ericpol means changing employer for over 2,100 employees. The Board of Ericsson does not plan any layoffs. However, they do not exclude the possibility of increasing employment and capacity in their branches in Poland and Ukraine.

For over 20 years, Ericpol was a software provider for Ericsson, which operates in 180 countries and employs more than 100,000 employees.
