Łódź Airport has recorded a disastrous month in terms of passengers numbers. Compared to July this year, the number of passengers dropped by 1242 from 22,540 in July to 21,298 in August.
According to the Dziennik Łódzki, the number of passengers dropped drastically in the month of August. Not only did they drop month-on-month, August 2016 was also the worst August in the airport’s history since 2008. The drop in passenger numbers is spread evenly 50:50 over regular scheduled flights and charter.
For a small airport like Łódź Airport, passenger drops of this magnitude are disastrous. In August 2015, the airport recorded a total of 35,426 passengers while only one year later, it was 14,128 passengers less. What will happen in September? In September 2015, the airport handled nearly 33,000 passengers.
