Additional identifiers for taxis in Łódź

In Łódź News

Łódź city council and the taxi drivers trade union announced that plans are being made to introduce additional identifiers for taxi drivers. The aim is to increase passenger safety as well as fight service providers operating without a valid taxi license.

As Radio Łódź reported, the additional identifiers could be introduced in 2017. The aim of these identifiers is to increase passenger safety by ensuring that the driver has passed all exams and tests and is mentally fit to carry passengers.

Additionally, the city and the taxi drivers trade union aim to fight service providers and companies offering transport services without holding a taxi drivers license. In what shape and form these new identifiers will be introduced has not been confirmed yet, however, if the new legislation will be approved by the city council, they could come into effect by 30th of June next year.
