There have been several English-language gatherings in Łódź for several years. They are very popular, helping participants improving their language skills and meeting new people. There are several meetings that take place weekly in different bars, and the Łódź Post will introduce them. Today, however, we will look at a more international, multilingual, meeting – Language Exchange Łódź.
Language Exchange Łódź has been around since 2011. Miguel, one of the organizers, explains a little bit more about Language Exchange – “The idea of Language Exchange is to meet, practice and learn new languages, meet new people and simply have fun. It is supposed to be flexible, free style, just a meeting of a group of people wanting to get to know each other, to talk and have a good time together.”
Every Thursday, Language Exchange takes place at 6 Dzielnica street in Łódź. Taking part is free of charge and everyone is welcome to join. Due to the continous growth of the multilingual society and expat community in Łódź, Language Exchange is the ideal place to meet both, locals interested in improving their foreign language skills, as well as foreigners wishing to learn and improve on their Polish. Of course, the intercultural exchange comes as a welcomed added bonus.
– “Every week new people come and they dont have any problem with integration. People at Language Exchange are very open and friendly. The atmosphere is quite informal You can talk 5 minutes with one person, move around, talk in a group, move around, talk with another person… as you wish” – Miguel adds further.

This is brilliant, just what I need. I have recently moved to Poland from the UK. I also speak Spanish (2nd Language as i’m half Chilean) and a little Croatian. I would like to improve my Polish so I will definitely be at the next meeting.
