COALS at Songwriter Łódź Festiwal – 13.05.2017

In Entertainment & Lifestyle, Łódź News

Last summer season’s popular event series “Songwriter Łódź Festiwal” continues in 2017 and has already drawn large crowds at the first two performances of the season.

This Saturday, 13.05.2017, the Łódź events centrum once again invites music lovers to the clock tower at the intersection of Piotrkowska and 6 Sierpnia streets for an evening of acoustical delights. The event is free of charge and anyone passing by is welcome to stop for a moment to listen to the artists.

On Saturday evening at 20:00, the band “Coals”, or Katarzyna Kowalczyk and Łukasz Rozmysłowski, will perform for the audience. The name of the band refers to the well-known coal mines of Silesia. The prestigious British magazine “The Quietus” described their music as a dreamy, ethereal pop, drawing on equal footing with electronics and folk elements.

After just six months of existence, the duo has been invited to festivals such as the OFF Festival, the Open’er Festival and the Soundrive Festival. The duo has taken their first steps at foreign festivals (Positivus Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, LOFTAS, Tune In Tel Aviv, BUSH Budapest).

In November, Coals also performed at the Iceland Airwaves festival in Reykjavik. Recently, the band released two singles, “RAVE03” and “Lato2002”, promoting their debut album, which will be released in October 2017.
