Before the test drives, the new train underwent several tests at the plant in Bydgoszcz. Before it left on the tracks, Pesa engineers checked the system, steering, braking and the computer system for, among others, passenger information displays and doors.

The first test drive lasted several days. Every day internal tests achieved increasingly higher speeds – from 100 km / h, 140 km / h to 160 km / h.

On May 30 at 2:57am on the rail section Psary-Gora Włodowska the Pesa vehicle reached a record speed of 200 km / h.

PKP Intercity ordered 20 trains last year. The contract is valued at more than 1.3 billion. The Polish “Pendolino” will be equipped with many amenities for passengers in addition to the obligatory Wi-Fi and air conditioning, heated seats, electric sockets, and even a signal amplification system for mobile telephony will add to the passengers comfort. Each train will offer 352 seats, including 60 in first class.

Although the new trains can accelerate to 200 km / h, the highest speed that it will travel on Polish tracks will be 160 km / h. The trains are planned to run on routes: Jelenia Gora – Wroclaw – Lodz – Warsaw – Bialystok / Lublin & Bialystok / Lublin – Warsaw – Koluszki – Czestochowa – Katowice – Bielsko-Biala.
