Poland announces record low in numbers of unemployed in years

According to Polish media outlet “Newsweek”, the number of employed people in Poland has dropped to its lowest in eight years. Newsweek referred to statistics released by the Polish Central Statistical Office, according to which, unemployment in Poland stood at 8.8% in June 2016.

The central statistical office said that the number of unemployed registered in labor offices amounted to 1 392,5 thous. in June while in May it was 1 456.9 thousand. people.

Newsweek stated that the positive trend is associated with economic growth, which generates a demand for workers, as well as seasonal work during the summer.
