British newspaper The Sun has ranked Warsaw’s Christmas markets among the European top 5 to visit this year.
The paper wrote – Warsaw is a city full of cosy bars and restaurants to entice in weary travellers and it really comes into its own at Christmas. Traditionally festivities peak on Christmas Eve – known as Wigilia – when families get together to sing carols, exchange gifts and feast on a 12-course menu, featuring dishes including jellied carp. Warsaw was ranked in 5th place. Bulgarian capital Sofia topped the list followed by Paris, Budapest and Bucharest.
