Most of the major traditional European airlines will be operating out of Krakow-Balice airport this year. Next to Lufthansa and British Airways, French airline Air France and Spanish Iberia will launch new routes.
During the summer season, Air France will fly from Krakow to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Iberia to Madrid. In addition, from March Scandinavian airline SAS will commence flights to Copenhagen, and during the summer season Greek airline Aegean Airlines will fly direct to Athens.
Last year, Krakow airport handled 4,221 million passengers. This year, the airport plans to increase passenger numbers to 8 million.
