International football returns to Łódź in June. Following the youth team, the next Polish national football team to play at the city stadium in Łódź will be the Women’s team as they play host to Sweden in a bid to qualify for the European Championship.

This is a big deal for Łódź as we still do not have full stadiums. I think that this game will draw a big crowd – says Edward Potok, president of the Łódź Football Association.

– In my opinion, Sweden has one of the best teams in the world, so it’s definitely worth it to come to this game – notes Christopher Maciaszczyk, president of the city stadium’s management.

The game between Poland and Sweden will be held on 2nd of June. Tickets will go on sale on Friday 29th of April.

In Group 4 of the Euro qualifying group, Poland sits in 4th place with 7 points. Sweden leads the group with 12 points out of 4 games. The last game between Poland and Sweden in September of last year ended 3:0 in favour of the Scandinavians.
