The players of Ostrovia 1909 Ostrow Wielkopolski have again proven that no matter which league you are in, Cup is Cup and Cup has different rules. After eliminating Ruch Chorzow in the previous round of the 2014 / 15 Puchar Polski, the team took on another team from the Ekstraklasa – Cracovia and the “Stripes” needed extra time to defeat the hosts at the Stadion Miejski in Ostrów Wielkopolski. It is worth noting that Ostrovia, after scoring an equalizing goal in the 73rd-minute had some great opportunities to get the next and possibly decisive goal, but the hosts wasted too many of their chances.
With 1:1 at the end of regular time, it was Cracovia left the pitch as the winning team with Dariusz Zjawiński scoring the 1:2 in the 98th minute.
