Handball World Cup: Argentina vs Poland 23:24 (12:11)

Lucky Poles snatched a victory from the brave fighting Pan American champions and took their first points in Doha after their opening defeat against Germany. The match was on the edge for 60 minutes, as Argentina kept it level for the whole game – continuing their form from their sensational draw against Denmark.

In the first half the lead changed hands constantly, and also after the break the favoured Polish side could not manage to rid themselves of their opponent proved by the 19:19 deadlock on 48 minutes.

When “Gaucho” Diego Simone got a red card seven minutes before the end, everything was still up for grabs. But Poland sealed the deal in the final minutes netting for the win (24:22).

Argentina’s top scorer was Diego Simonet with 5 goals. The joint top scorers for the Poland team were Lujewski and Jurecki brothers with 5 goals each.
