Volleyball club Grot Budowlani Łódź confirmed that Polish national player Gabriela Polańska will stay with the club. The club stated that they have signed an agreement with the center player until June 2019.
Gabriela Polańska can look back at a very successful 2016 / 17 season having won silver in the Orlen Liga (highest Polish women’s volleyball league) championship as well as coming in second in the Polish cup competition. In addition, Polańska was crowned athlete of the year 2016 in the Łódź region, an award organized annually by the daily news-outlet Dziennik Łódzki.
– I am very glad to be able to confirm my stay at Grot Budowlani Łódź. It was not a difficult decision to make for me. I really like the atmosphere that prevails in Łódź and after three seasons at the club I can safely say that the atmosphere created here is a huge asset of our club. I also like the system and work of trainer Blazej Krzyształowicz. Last but not least, we have many great fans here at the club! Playing for them is a great pleasure and joy, I could not give up on that. All this contributed to making my decision to stay in Łódź -, said Gabriela Polańska.
Gabriela Polańska has been with Budowlani Łódź since 2014, wearing the colours of the Budowlani team as well as the Polish national squad. The signing of the 2.02 meters tall center player is the second confirmation for the 2017 / 18 season. Last week, Grot Budowlani Łódź confirmed the signing of Agata Witkowska who returns to Łódź after a spell at Atom Trefl Sopot and Italy’s Seria A team Futura Volley Busto Arsizio.
