US food chain Diary Queen to open first outlet in Warsaw in September

US fast food chain Dairy Queen is said to open it’s first Polish branch in Warsaw this September.

The Polish businesses Sparrow 4 will be franchising the American food chain, which was founded in 1940 and serves products such as, among others, hamburgers, fries, ice cream and milkshakes.

Chairman of Sparrow 4, Andrzej Uryga, stated that he aims to open ten outlets in Poland within one year.

Poland will be the first European country in which Dairy Queen will open a branch.

Uryga also stated that eating out is currently taking off in Poland, after a slow start since the 1989 collapse of communism.

“It’s easier to start in a growing market than one of the stable markets of Western countries,” he said.
