Nextbike Polsa, the company running the public bicycle network in several Polish cities, confirmed that over 1 million users have already signed up to their bike rental system.
“At the moment, approx. 6 million people in Poland have direct access to our bicycles. This is the population of the cities and towns in which we are present. Out of these six million, every sixth person registered in our system and uses our city bikes-, says Tomasz Wojtkiewicz, President of Nextbike Polska.
“With Nextbike bicycles, the cities are changing for the better – transportation is changing, movement around the city is more organized, the air is cleaner and we are healthier. We are impressed by how willing people in Poland are to change from four to two wheels- , Wojtkiewicz adds.
Anyone can register with the Nextbike Polska network. Just sign up and pay 10 or 20 PLN for future rentals. Renting a bike is also easy. Just enter your phone number, PIN code and bike number at the terminal. You can also use the free Nextbike application for mobile devices.
In Łódź, public bicycles were launched last year and proved to be highly successful. Within their first month of operation, the Łódź public bicycle network registered over 42,000 new users while the amount of rentals recorded in the first month stood at over 363,000.
