German Chancellor Angela Merkel has arrived in Warsaw to meet with Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło and President Andrzej Duda. In addition, Merkel will also meet with the Law and Justice (PiS) head Jarosław Kaczyński.
The talks between Merkel, the Polish Prime Minister and the President will cover, among others, bilateral ties and security issues. The meeting between Merkel and Szydło is the fourth meeting of this kind.
In an earlier interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński stated that “A Merkel win would be best for us”, referring to the upcoming German elections.
