The French broadcaster ARTE has suspended its co-operation with Poland’s TVP. In a statement published on its website, ARTE states that the move to suspend the co-operation with the Polish broadcaster follows the recent changes to public television made by the Polish government.
– ARTE does not have the certainty that freedom of expression, editorial independence and pluralism of public television in Poland are guaranteed. – the statement reads.
The new media bill, which was signed by Polish president Andrzej Duda, has raised concerns in Poland and across Europe over the independence of public television.
