The Łódź regional crisis management center has issued a weather warning for today, Wednesday 27.07. . Thunderstorms with heavy rain and winds are expected to hit the Łódź region.
Following Monday’s heavy downpour, Łódź is once again bracing itself for more thunder, heavy rain and strong winds. The storm has already passed over Radom, leaving firefighters dealing with the aftermath. Several basements are flooded while heavy winds caused damaged to trees and electrical lines.
The crisis management center advises residents to stay at home, in the office or to remain within their cars if getting caught up in the storm.
After Monday’s heavy rain and flooding, police in Łódź are asking car owners to check their vehicles for their registration plates. 50 car registration plates were picked up by police, having been left behind by drivers who drove their cars through flooded streets. They can be picked up from the Łódź regional police headquarters.
