As part of the next stage of the revitalization of the center of Łódź, a tender for the reconstruction of Traugutta Street was announced. The repair will cover the section from Sienkiewicza to Kilińskiego streets.
– The city has estimated the repair costs to be about 10 million PLN, – says deputy director for area revitalization in the Municipal Investment Board, Agnieszka Kowalewska-Wójcik. The finalization of the investment is scheduled for the end of 2018.
After the modernization of Traugutta street, additional parking places will be available for residents. Existing trees will be preserved while new shrubs and trees will be planted to make the area greener. Lighting and sidewalks will also be replaced with new ones. The main purpose of the reconstruction is to calm traffic in the new center of Łódź and to provide residents with a friendly living area. The reconstructed Traugutta street will be a link between Piotrkowska street and Łódź Fabryczna railway station.
