Police in Łódź sums up Christmas holiday weekend

Police in Łódź have summed the 2016 Christmas holidays, confirming the number of accidents, injured and arrested drunk drivers on Christmas Eve, 1st and 2nd Christmas Day.

According to a Police statement, during the 2016 Christmas holidays, 29 accidents in which 39 people were injured and two killed, were recorded in the Łódź region. During vehicle checks, Police detained 30 drunk drivers and intervened in 135 minor collisions.

In comparison, during Christmas 2015, 17 accidents in which 27 people were injured were recorded. Police reported no fatalities. While compared to last year, the amount of minor collisions increased from 122 to 135, the number of detained drunk drivers dropped from 52 to 30.
