Lodz Airport has entered the winter flight schedule and it seems as if it rather a long winter sleep, instead of a schedule. Only 4 routes will be offered from and to Lodz during this period. However, airport authorities invite skiers on flights to Munich.
The situation in the Lodz airport does not look good. In winter, only four routes are offered: to Dublin, East Midlands, London Stansted and Munich. Unfortunately, the time table does not contain any charter flights. For months the airport suffered declines in passenger numbers and connections. Salvation was meant to come from 4 YOU Airlines.
Flights with 4 You Airlines were scheduled to start on November 3rd. However, no planes took to the air. The company had trouble getting the relevant permits on time. Travelers now receive refunds for already purchased tickets. In winter, however, Łódź airport encourages to fly with a stopover in Munich. The airport has an offer for skiers. – We recommend everyone visit the ski resort Krvavec in Slovenia – says Ewa Bieńkowska, Lodz airport spokeswoman. – Located just 8 km from the airport in Ljubljana, which can be comfortably be reached with Adria Airways from Lodz, with a short stopover in Munich. No need to even get out of the plane. Krvavec is the second largest winter resort in Slovenia.
Bieńkowska points out that the resort has more than 30 km of slopes at an altitude of 1450 to 1971m above sea level – The ski season typically lasts from late November until early May – marks Bieńkowska. – Varied routes are suitable for both professionals and amateurs. There is a possibility to rent ski equipment. Departure from Lodz is at 10:35 with arrival in Ljubljana at 13:15. Back from Ljubljana the flight is scheduled at 6:55 and to in arrive in Lodz at 10:05. Ticket prices start at approx. 1000 zloty both ways.
