A man from Pabianice (Łódź region) has been fined 1000 PLN by city guards after being caught smoking at a bus stop in the town’s center.
The incident took place on Thursday (14.07.) at around 13:00 at a bus at ul. Zamkowa in Pabianice as two city guards, who noticed a man smoking in a public place, approached him. The man proceeded to throw his cigarette butt on the sidewalk and behaved aggressively. Not taking vulgar and aggressive behaviour lightly, the guards issued the maximum fine possible for two offences, one for smoking in a public place, the second for littering.
In Poland, smoking at public transport is prohibited within a ten meter radius of the stop.
