Drunk driver without license causes accident on Pogonowskiego in Łódź

With almost 2.5 per mille of alcohol in the body through the city center. Drunk driver without driving license caused an accident at the intersection of Pogonowskiego and Zielona in Łódź yesterday afternoon (03.08.16). One person got injured in the accident.

The accident took place at around 14:00 on 03.08.2016. Having ignored a stop sign at the intersection of Pogonowskiego and Zielona, the driver of a Volkswagen collided with a Toyota travelling on ul. Zielona. The driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital but is said not to be in critical condition.

The driver of the Volkswagen was tested for alcohol. Not only did the driver have almost 2.5 per mille of alcohol in the body, it also turns out that they were not in possession of a valid driving license.

In Poland, drunk driving carries a penalty of up to two years imprisonment.
