Bomb alarm at Port Łódź – 40-year old arrested

Police in Łódź have confirmed that they have arrested a 40-year old woman in connection with a false bomb alarm which caused the evacuation of the Port Łódź shopping center. According to police, the reason given for placing the false alarm was that “she did not want to work on that day”.

The incident took place on 11th of September. The suspect called the shopping center and informed about the imminent alleged explosion. Police appeared on the spot immediately and thoroughly checked the area.

Fortunately, it turned out that the call was a false alarm. As established by police, the woman works as a cleaning lady in the center. She said that on that day she did not want to work, so she called to inform about the alleged bomb in the hope that the center will be evacuated and she will be able to go home and rest.

The woman has been charged with falsely triggering a bomb alarm. If convicted, she could face up to eight years in prison.
