Police in Łódź have arrested two men in connection to an incident that took place at a kebab shop in the Bałuty district of the city on Easter Monday. The men were charged with destruction of property and racial abuse.

On Easter Monday, several men were caught on camera as they entered a kebab shop on ul. Łagiewnicka in Łódź. CCTV footage released and published on wyborcza.pl, shows the intoxicated men arguing with the staff of the kebab shop. According to witness reports, abuse was directed at a Bangladeshi citizen working in the shop.
Shortly after the start of the argument, the video footage shows the argument escalating as the men can be seen hurling chairs at the desk and at one of the kebab shop’s grills. One of the man can also be seen as he tries to jump over the counter.
Shortly after, police arrested a 34 and 39-year old in connection with the incident. An alcohol test showed that the men had between 1 and 1.5 per mille of alcohol in the body. Both men have been charged with destruction of property and racial abuse. Destruction of property can carry a sentence of up to 5 years imprisonment while racial abuse can carry a sentence of up to 3 years.
